7,410 PointsWhat is the difference between using a variable within a string versus using a placeholder and format()?
For example: first_name = "Joe" print("Welcome to treehouse", first_name) versus print("Welcome to treehouse {}".format(first_name))

231,269 PointsThere's no functional difference, both methods produce the same result. It's simply programmer's choice.
As you progress you'll soon discover even more choices for formatting output. My favorite is called "F-strings", which would look like this:
print(f"Welcome to treehouse {first_name}")
