2,438 PointsWhat is the character set of a page? What will other character set e.g. 7 bit, do?
I was thinking that character set is a bit like font? But not sure what exactly it affects the formatting of the webpage, would appreciate some help!

Treehouse TeacherYou're correct. It does stand for 8 bit. But for instance, if you take the same text you have but use a different encoding standard you could get a page that is entirely in Chinese characters! That's probably not what you're shooting for. The charset is literally the set of characters you're using. And they are industry defined.
