7,782 PointsWhat is the best way to resize images?
HI, I am optimizing a site and I have about 20 pictures that are currently being resized with css. This makes loading very slow. What is the best way to fix this? Should I scale and compress each picture? If so how should I go about doing that? I could use Gimp but that will be fairly time consuming. I found a bunch of online programs that can resize in bulk but I'm not sure if they are any good. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

2,125 PointsHi Josh....Im 15 days late with this answer (joined treehouse couple of days ago). Ill post this answer just in case.
Photoshop for example has something called actions.
You just create one action and step by step apply the modifications you want for the image (resize, brightness, ppi, save as, close file). And then you just apply the actions to the rest. Simple and really fast.
Im sure Gimp has this as default or as a plug-in and it should work pretty much the same.
Cheers.
