I am quite carious about what actually sudo is? why we would need it in our code to implement some commands such as chown or adduser

It stands for superuser do (I think). It basically allows you to run commands with superuser privileges when it is needed, like installing packages system-wise. You want to be careful using a sudo command though, as it is a powerful feature.
