14,206 PointsWhat formats should I use for exporting in AI?
Hi,
I want to sell vectors and there are lots of them.(around 2000)
What formats(eps,ai,svg, etc.) do you think I should export for this matter? and with what configurations?(I'm using Adobe Illustrator 5)
For example GraphicRiver suggests to use Illustrator 8 EPS.
What's your suggestion? What set of files should a vector bundle contain?
I want to receive the least emails about "problems with opening files".
Thanks in Advanced.
;)

4,973 PointsHi Mohammed,
I suggest a couple of formats: an eps in CMYK, for print use, and jpeg and png files - use an rgb colorspace - 300 dpi and 72 dpi (and maybe in larger and smaller sizes) for people to use in web or mobile applications. If you include those in your bundle, I think you will meet most users' needs.

Treehouse Guest TeacherHey Mohammad Hossein Mojtahedi ,
What medium are these vectors for?
Are they icons?
Are they for print?

14,206 PointsConsider this too:
This site will target more than 1.5 billion people(Muslims) all around the world for easy to use Vectors. So I need to make sure there is no need to delete or add a new file to all bundles! You can calculate how much bandwidth/work would it take.
also, There are 2 type of files:
- Simple Black Files
- Colored Files
Now what do you think? is a simple 300 dpi CMYK EPS8, a jpg and SVG(for web use) enough for Black versions?
What about Colored ones?

14,206 PointsHey Mat Helme ...
The first 2000 Designs are Persian and Arabic Calligraphies.
They can be used in any way... Printing on Shirt/T-shirt, Printed for public use, use as a Web-Font or anything else.

Some bad examples of similar use:

- What should I do for Preview?
- Is watermarking enough?
- How do you do it your self? (a freeware? a Photoshop action? Server-side Programming?)
