what does the fill line tick option on segmented line tool does?

I created two segmented lines. One with "fill line" checked and the other without. What is the difference and the purpose of this option?

I played with this and notice if for example your previous arc has a fill color (with fill option ticked), when you created a new arc by clicking on the artboard, and then unclick the fill option, your new arc will have no fill.
