what does it mean when it says "substring not found"?

here's my code........ def loopy(items): for item in items: if item.index('a') == 0: continue print(item)

breaks.py
def loopy(items):
    for item in items:
        if item.index('a') == 0:
            continue
        print(item)

Hello Fhatuwani.

To check if the letter at index 0 is equal to 'a' you should use the following statement (or something similar):

if item[0] == 'a':

There rest of your code should be fine
