Python Web Development Techdegree Student 1,067 PointsWhat do students gain, and what do students loose doing a tech degree here on tree house vs an in person program?
I signed up for a coding bootcamp, but I'm in the first week and find it a little disorganized and all over the place. I'm leaning towards Tree House and other online utilities, but I'm also curious as to what I'm gaining, and what I'm loosing by taking this route.
Thoughts?

Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 33,900 PointsI have done the Frontend techdegree last year and completed the first three projects. I found the projects really cool and helpful. It really closes the gap between learning the theory (for which I find the normal treehouse courses excellent) and actually using and practicing the concepts...
Also the slack channel of fellow techdegree students was really cool and helpful.
So you gain a lot of actual practice in the techdegree and you do not feel so much being alone on your journey...
The only thing you "loose" would be the money you invest. ;-) And of course the time... But time you have to invest anyway, wherever you learn.
So I would say, give it a try and see if you like the build up of the techdegree! As you already do I see in your avatar logo...
I envy you a little bit because I would also love to do the python techdegree, but am still clearing my financial situation in real life so I actually can go for it. Maybe we meet in the slack channel next month. :-)
Happy coding and I hope you enjoy the program!

Python Web Development Techdegree Student 1,067 PointsHey again Nils,
One of the things I gained from the first few days at the bootcamp is the comradery and support you have as you journey through the struggle of learning code.
It seems far easier on one hand to have those people with you as you go. But on the other, and like you said, the amount of money is quite a bit.
I noticed your in Berlin, I'm in London right now and it would be amazing if there were TreeHouse code sessions in real life or even a meetup. I'll look into starting something.
