What do design students think of the design courses on Treehouse?

What do design students think of the design courses on Treehouse? Would you recommend it?

I feel like learning design is also important when learning web development, but so far the design courses haven't appealed to me that much. The intro to illustrator course hasn't even been updated yet, seems like years. The logo design course is very short. All this is understandable to a certain extent because treehouse is mainly geared towards developers, which is what I'm doing with the front end web development track. I've started the web prototyping course with figma, but it seems more catered to mobile design, or maybe I'm wrong? What would you recommend here on treehouse? And what have you liked and disliked so far with the design courses?

To me the design courses (just like the business courses) are a nice little extra next to the main purpose of this platform, which is to learn and hone your Front- and/or Back-End development skills. The courses do a decent job in introducing you to other important aspects of the creative industry but that's about it.

If you're serious about developing your design or business skills I would go look someplace else (e.g. Coursera.org or Lynda.com). Or better yet, apply the skills you've learned here and work with others who are good other fields. Ask them questions. See how they work. Collaborate. Make mistakes. Have fun. Deliver good stuff. It'll teach you so much more than a logo design course here on TreeHouse
