Android Build an Interactive Story App (Retired) User Input Introducing ImageViews

What are some good 2D designing software for apps?

If I were to make my own story or add buttons and test them out, I would also like to know how to design these small images. I was wondering what are some applications I can use in order to design small images for android applications other than Photoshop?

Rohan;

I'm not sure that this exactly belongs in the Android discussion area as it does in the Design topic area, but I'll see if I can offer some suggestions. Mat Helme would be much better suited, I think, to answer Photoshop oriented questions, but here are some of the Photoshop alternatives I have used in the past.

GIMP - Open source

Paintshop Pro - by Corel

Those are the ones that I have used in the past. Both have their place in raster image editing, but honestly nothing out there compares to Photoshop.

For vector images, which if memory serves the Interactive Story App relies on, there are other options as well. I personally use CorelDRAW. Not because it is better, but strictly because I used it in a production environment for several years and it is what I know.

Hope that helps.
