I have tried this several different ways and can't seem to get my head around what I am doing wrong. Can someone help point me in the write direction?
public class ConferenceRegistrationAssistant {
public int getLineFor(String lastName) {
/* If the last name is between A thru M send them to line 1
Otherwise send them to line 2 */
int line = 0;
char character = lastName.CharAt(0);
if(character < 'n') {
line = 1;
}else{ line = 2;
}
return line;
}

28,694 PointsYou've made a couple mistakes with case:
public class ConferenceRegistrationAssistant {
public int getLineFor(String lastName) {
/* If the last name is between A thru M send them to line 1
Otherwise send them to line 2 */
int line = 0;
char character = lastName.charAt(0);//HERE
if(character < 'N') {//PROBABLY HERE
line = 1;
}else{ line = 2;
}
return line;
}
}
