HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Create Navigation with Lists

what am I doing wrong?

I put <nav> directly after the link and it is not working.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <nav>
          <ul></ul>
        </nav>
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>

      </a>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Your need to create the navigation element with a nested unordered list after the anchor tags, not inside.

OHhhhh. I see.

Remember that the link doesn't end until AFTER the ending anchor tag. Your navigation element should appear below the end tag like this.

<a href="index.html">
   <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
   <h2>Designer</h2>
</a>
<nav>
   <ul></ul>
</nav>

Thanks. I see it.
