Courses Plus Student 8,447 Pointswebpage not taking effect to changes made in css
Hi I'm a beginner in html/css and I was following along with this course and everything was working fine till we started coding the css. the linked file in the html head" main.css" was working fine. After we linked the file and tested it to make sure it was working and linked correctly it worked. We changed the entire background of the body to orange. However after we deleted that line of code and refreshed the page still remained with the orange background color. I touched no other line of code plus I made sure by opening the project file for this section of the course. I'm using google chrome.

Courses Plus Student 8,447 PointsI even just completely deleted the main.css file and then previewed the page and the orange background was still there.

14,586 PointsYou saved the file correctly? Maybe a Caching issue?
SAMUEL LAWRENCE
Courses Plus Student 8,447 PointsYes I saved the file correctly. I think you might be right. I opened it up at work and it took effect. I think it was a caching problem. I'll try again after work when I get home. Thanks buddy. the thing is I'm in China and websites work really slow here and most you can't access without a VPN but even then it still works very slowly.

Courses Plus Student 8,447 PointsHi guys I don't know if it's a problem with my browser or what but on both my home computer and work computer, using safari, firefox or chrome, unless I manually go to preferences and clear cache and change I make in the workspace won't take effect in any browser unless I clear the cache manually. All other sites work fine pages refresh normally. I reset and reinstalled browser to make sure it wasn't a browser problem but its only happening here on this site when I try to follow along with the course. Why is that?
SAMUEL LAWRENCE
Courses Plus Student 8,447 PointsNow I know it's not the browser. I duplicated the project on my computer using coda and when I preview then make changes and refresh the changes take effect. But it's not doing that when working out of the workspace on treehouse unless I manually clear the cache each time I need to see some changes. That way I can't follow along with the course and earn my badges or points. {sad}
