1,223 Pointswebhostingforstudents.com is broken...?
403 forbidden error from typing the URL directly into the browser, or following the affiliate link on the Student Perks page :-/ What else does Treehouse recommend? I've paid for hosting in the past but it was way over-priced, I didn't know any better. Thank you!

1,223 PointsChris, it's http://webhostingforstudents.com/ which gives me a 403 Forbidden Error.

13,188 PointsThis can vary depending on what kind of hosting you are looking for. Are you developing a web app, or basic web site? Is it just for testing, messing around with or is it for deployment? Do you require cPanel?

1,223 PointsI was just following along with the domain and hosting tutorials, but I plan on using it for a portfolio site (I do illustration and type design, so just static images) and blog. Pretty basic. I'm not very familiar with cPanel, I know what it does kinda, but I plan on developing and maintaining the site with my own code if that makes a difference. I am very new here haha, I normally hand off assets to the developers and call it a day!

13,188 PointscPanel (and the other custom panels) are designed to make things easier, such as setting up subdomains, email, and all that fun stuff. cPanel is the popular choice for linux based hosting, but some hosts have in house versions.
Since you don't have a preference, I have two recommendations:
1: Stablehost - https://www.stablehost.com/web-hosting.php I use them for a couple of my projects and they are quite solid and reliable.
2: NFO - http://www.nfoservers.com/webhosting.php They are rock solid and their basic web hosting package is $2.99 a month. I use them for the majority of my projects. Now, don't let the fact that they are primarily a game server host deter you, their web services outdo most providers by a longshot. The only downfall is lack of cPanel (they use their own in house panel for administration) but it is still very, very easy to use.
