99 PointsWeb Design Career
Hi All,
I am planning to eventually create a 2nd career in Web Design for small businesses. I was wondering where I should start? Meaning, which class or program to select. I am in no rush. I have a full time job and just want to learn a new skill and eventually become marketable with my knowledge. I started learning HTML through your Web Design curriculum. Is that the correct place to start? Will the program guide me to the next steps afterwards? Please advise. I am not at all new to computers and software, but have never learned any coding. Thanks! Matt

9,455 PointsI am in a similar position as you and want to start a career in web-development. I am currently on the Front-End Development Techdegree and I will then take on Wordpress and probably Python.

28,802 PointsIn my opinion the treehouse Web Design track is the best place to start. Once you are able to understand how to place content on the web, I would practice this on a consistent basis. Also look on GitHub and browse the web for various projects/websites or designs that you like and learn from them. I always like to start simple when learning something new and build off of that simple idea. I hope that this helps and good look with your journey! :)

If your looking for Web Designing, then yes the Web Design Track is the best starting point. From there I would move to the Front End Development Track. After those, you should be able to focus on what interests you the most.
Good Luck and Keep Coding! :)
