13,471 PointsVR for Education?
Do you know if there is some applications/frameworks of VR for education? Or it is used only for entertainment?
Just curious.

Courses Plus Student 8,333 PointsIt's definitely something people are starting to think about, I don't have much knowledge of the field, but this article gave quite a good overview, I thought: http://techcrunch.com/2016/01/23/when-virtual-reality-meets-education/

3,303 PointsMost definitely, I was very fortunate enough when working as an intern for a design firm to experience an advanced VR. It was a prototype for formula one drivers. You were situated in the drivers seat, and you were able to see airflow/aerodynamics when you changed gear, went round a corner etc. The list of what it will be used for is endless; surgery, warfare, education

3,840 PointsI don't know, but I am now able to imagine being able to grasp something on say, Mars, from the comfort of one's home or office. That's pretty wicked! But with that kind of power comes other challenges as well.. as with any ability or technology. One would have to be an environment in which disturbances do not occur if it is sensitive work. Can also see this being applied to gold mining in South Africa in areas under the earth that may hold treasure but due to temperatures of 130+ humans have immense difficulties obtaining, space-mining, oil discovery, etc.
Technology and the new processes that come with them revolutionize landscapes. There are many knowns and unknowns- known unknowns...
