Visual Studio

The video doesn't mention Visual Studio at all. However, when I try to install MySql Installer it tells me that Visual Studio 2010 or later is required.

Am I downloading the correct MySql Installer? Is Visual Studio required? I'd rather not spend the hours required to install Visual Studio if it's not required. If required, you should mention it in the course.

It could just mean it needs the "Redistributable" library that has things Visual C++ projects need to run on other systems where the full Visual Studio isn't installed. It's a lot smaller that Visual Studio itself.

You can get the latest 2015 version here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 but it could also be that it needs the 2010 version. (My system has 2008/2010/2012/2013 and 2015 installed along side each other, so it's not unusual to require a specific version)
