I have installed virtual box and installed unbuntu so that i can do some of the courses on here but it seems to be running really slow, to slow to watch videos, the internet connection is fine because i am now watching the videos on windows, i have set it up with the recommended memory and ram settings, has anyone else had this problem?

8,600 PointsI have heard of a lot people having problems with Ubuntu running very slowly in virtual box due to 3D acceleration issues and GPU load being dumped on the CPU instead. We did test it with our virtual servers at my work and didn't get on very well with it.
We use multiple different versions of Ubuntu on VMware and seem to have no problems.
We use VMware Workstation Pro, but there is a non-commercial use free version called VMware Workstation Player, which I use myself at home for testing which is still very good:
