How does Spring know that we are using ThymeLeaf as our view engine? We have only specified ThymeLeaf as a dependency in our build.gradle file, but never explicitly instructed Spring to use ThymeLeaf in our AppConfig or anywhere.

3,241 PointsYou establish this connection, in addition to configuring our build.gradle, in the html file itself.
If you use the th: prefix on a standard, XML compliant HTML document, you will have issues. What allows us to use Thymeleaf is this portion of script right here:
