Very happy with the site :)

This isn't something I need help on, but I just wanted to say I reinstated my membership today because I need help with a coding test for a job, and I was delighted to see the increase of UX and UI based courses in the past year and a half. This was the main reason I ended up not continuing and where I thought the site was lacking (I'm a designer primarily). Also, site security! Sketch! Prototyping! So much new material to work through. I doubt I'll be going anywhere for a while. Thanks guys!

Glad you're happy...

Could you please expand on 1 or 2 of the courses that put the biggest simile on your face. Was it something in the description, or just course title. Just general curiosity about the key motivational factors.

Hi Gina Mills,

That's great to hear, as a designer - how do you feel the courses stack up to real work and projects? I work as a developer and while I always put a lot of effort into the UI and UX parts of my projects, I realize that I need to learn a lot to improve. So it would be cool to know how someone who considers herself primarily a designer is experiencing these courses?

I would also recommend you to send your feedback to Treehouse using this email: help@Teamtreehouse.com

I know they appreciate the feedback, and knowing that people really enjoy their investment in UI, UX and IA could be helpful for them.

Regards, Jonas

Hello - Thanks for your response! For myself I'm still learning UX and UI - and I want an easy to digest, comprehensive guide to everything UX - everything from conducting usability tests to learning sketch. At the moment, to learn UX and UI, one either has to shell out 6-12 grand to a company to learn it, or use something very difficult to navigate such as the interaction design foundation (which is ironically, very un-user friendly and unusable - nothing against them I learn a lot there, but it sure isn't easy even though it could be).

I'd love treehouse to be the people to implement it because they are SO good at explaining code and other subject matter, and they do it at a price which while is still hard for me to afford, is a lot more affordable than 12 grand, so it's a great place to come to so I can upskill. User experience is becoming a very essential part of the web now and it's one of the sections that I was seeing previously the most lacking on the site. Topics that were covered related it were using old technology. For example no one uses adobe illustrator to lay it out these days. Companies expect things like sketch, balsamiq, list goes on. Which is why I was happy to see the UX track and the Sketch course in particular.

So yes, The whole UX track, the sketch course, courses on wireframing and prototyping are my favourite courses I will do in the near future. If someone were to elaborate on these and create more content, it'd be great to have an overall course that explains all the different career tracks for UX that one can go down, what is expected, and courses to cater to each, including more ux theory explained better. Basically similar to what the competition has, but you guys explain it sooooo much easier, for people to actually retain and put into practice - and a great way to expand on the design sections of your website - thanks guys!
