you must have the def keyword, an acceptable name, 0 or more parameters in parens (), and the colon : at the end of the first line. the body must be indented (2 or 4 spaces is common) for it to be recognized as a block of code inside the function. then just do what the challenge asks. one way they point out to help is that strings can be multiplied by integers, so 'yo' * 9 = 'yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyo'.
