The major error in your code is you are checking for items in your function. What you actually want to be doing is using the function to check for items in "items". Also, you needed an else statement that will print the item if it is not "STOP".
Here's my code for reference:
def loopy(items):
for item in items: # 'item' is temporary assigned to one item in 'items'
if item == "STOP":
break
else:
print(item)
