Am lost in the coding for string resources see my attached code

You should be setting the buttonLabel
value which is currently a blank string, "".
That should be set as the string id you set in the previous question, R.string.morePuppies.
So, it should look like:
String buttonLabel = getString(R.string.morePuppies);
