42,386 PointsHi Rishab, the last return statement in your code will never ever be reached, hence your error.
When the condition to check the value of rightTile
is run, it can either be true
or false
and both of these conditions cause the method to return. The last return
statement can never be reached.
public boolean hasTile(char tile) {
boolean rightTile = tiles.indexOf(tile) != -1;
if (rightTile) {
return true;
} else {
return false;
}
return rightTile; // the return statement will never be reached
}
In order to complete this challenge, you have to return the boolean
result from tiles.indexOf(tile) != -1
, you can't use an if/else
statement :)
