Understanding this python question

I just had this problem where it asked me to multiple a string? I thought that Integers and strings could not use mathematical equations? Is this the only one?

def printer(counter): print(counter*"hi")

Yes, this seems to be unique to Python, as far as I know. Multiplying a string by an integer will create a new string, in which the first string is repeated the number of times of the integer's value.

I imagine it comes in handy for printing horizontal lines on a report: print(60 * "_")
