I was able to solve the exercise, but I don't understand why this works or when I should use this:
class Inventory:
def __init__(self):
self.slots = []
def add_item(self, item):
self.slots.append(item)
class SortedInventory(Inventory):
def add_item(self, item, **kwargs):
super().add_item(item, **kwargs)
Is the point of super to override a method in one class, without directly changing the parent's method? This is because changing the parent method would also change every class that inherits the parent? Why not make a new method in the subclass?

243,253 PointsIn creating the override, you are making a new method in the subclass. The "super()" doesn't change the parent method, it allows you to call the parent's method instead of recursively calling yourself.
