3,297 PointsUgh. These fill-in-the-blank questions are killing me. I need to know the exact word he is wanting so I can move on.
2 of the 6 questions are fill in the blank, and I cannot figure out what is the exact word they are looking for. These fill-in-the-blank questions slow me down, because they are often poorly written or requiring various attempts to figure out the EXACT word.

17,372 PointsThe answers to the questions are almost always verbatim taken from the course. Being able to recall the answers is an important skill to have in a real job, and in these courses.

12,258 PointsSometimes they are an example of verbatim recall, but I agree. There is not much that I get out of the fill in the blank sections. I have had a couple of units that were particularly bad about asking fill in the blank for non technical answers (catch phrases, details about the project, etc.). There were a couple of sections related to skills I already had before joining Treehouse that I just wanted to answer the questions and move forward on to complete a track. In my opinion, asking for the specific command or technical name, good fill in the blank. Completing the instructor's bad catch phrase, frustrating and counter productive. There are many times in development when precision and technical recall are essential. I wish they would be stricter about keeping the fill in the blanks to those.

9,965 PointsI have found the. fill-in questions to be quite thought provoking. When I get them wrong I sometimes hit review video. It allows me to listen again to the material and I often get greater insight.
