Android Build an Interactive Story App (Retired) Intents and Multiple Activities Getting Data from an Intent

Trying to set mFuelLevel using an intent value.

Hi!

The code that I have typed out looks correct to me! I don't know if I am missing something really simple but to me it seems like it should work perfectly fine!

Can any of you see what the problem may be?

FlightActivity.java
import android.os.Bundle;

public class FlightActivity extends Activity {

  public int mFuelLevel = 0;

  @Override
  protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    setContentView(R.layout.activity_flight);

    // Add your code below!
    Intent intent = getIntent();
    mFuelLevel = intent.getStringExtra("FUEL_LEVEL", -1);
  }
}

Hi Luke,

When you are accessing the fuel level from your intent, you are calling "getStringExtra." As declared, your mFuelLevel variable is an "int". Try calling intent.getIntExtra instead.

I knew it was something small that I just couldn't see! Thanks ever so much for the help Jon.
