I can't figure out what I am doing wrong in this instance...

trial.py
try:
    add(a, b)
    a = float(a)
    b = float(b)
    return(a + b)
except ValueError:
    return None
else:
    return(a + b)

Hello Christopher,

I looked at the challenge. It wants you to add the try/except block inside the add function. You function should accept two values, try to convert them to floats, if this raises an exception, return None, else return the sum of the two floated values.

Hi, Christopher Morris !

All you need to make your code work is to def ine your add function outside try/except block.

def [yourfunction]:
    try:
    except:
    else:
