Well i though and i can be wrong that treehouse has a mission to bring affordable education to all the community, I was a student here some time ago and i love the idea that treehouse had, since them I always recommend their services to all my friends, but recently i decide to come back to see how the things are changing and what new language can I learn, there was my surprise when i see that $199/mo techdegree, what is that? well is the same tracks with some projects? does project should be in the $49 subscription and much more for $49. is very disappointing see a place that you love becoming something that was not their first idea. you can see all the other places with similar ideas at similar prices that treehouse PRO service has, but $199? nope. BTW your projects are going to be reviewed by students because that dose not cover a teacher to review you projects.
Well that is my question.. did treehouse lost its mission?

1,463 PointsI think it's just supply and demand. People wanted a credential program and Treehouse brought it. I'm certainly glad they did.

50 PointsIt is just supply and demand as Zach said, however as you mentioned the techdegree comes with no additional content - it simply uses the same videos from the $25 subscription and gives you a particular order in which to complete them. so you are essentially paying an additional $175 a month extra for live chat support + feedback!? not worth it. A smart person might use the techdegree trial to get a list of the course content, create it in their own time, then sign up for 1 month full techdegree and hand over all the work at once. now you have completed the course for $200.

1,463 PointsWell don't forget the projects which both show off your skills and are extremely useful for developing your skills. I mean they have courses on bug fixing but it doesn't come close to actually doing it. And team building, most programmers work in teams which you can do through the techdegree 30x easier then through the community trying to find a partner. And last but not least, you get a credential saying that you are have the skills, which is worth something to interviewers.

5,262 PointsMy point is that the mission that team treehouse always claim to have, is bringing affordable education to the community so if they want to have $2400 a year students they should create a different website with an other name. what I'm trying to say is that treehouse is not longer a affordable education center anymore. for example I was going to buy Pro to get the best of treehouse right, well now i feel that i cant do it because the best is reserved for a $200/mo student. all the good ideas that they probably will have in the future are not longer for us. they create a discrimination price for does how want to learn but can't afford the price. so for me and my friends this is not longer our place. does nice features that they have in tech degree should be offer in the pro account but now they have a different business. so until something change that is all for us.
they are now an expensive education center.

13,925 PointsI like the idea of different price points for different needs. I'm on the basic $25/month level and it's perfect. But I can see where some might need more.
