toUppercase

But why at the end of "toUpperCase()"there is "()" . Is it because if you write in the() a specific word to upperCase or it's like that?

1 Answer

string.toUpperCase is a method. The method is a function that applies to an object wrapper of which surrounds the string literal. In essence, the parentheses indicates that an action is preformed on the string and it converts it to uppercase characters. You do not need to insert anything within the parentheses.

For example.

var myString = "treehouse";

myString.toUpperCase() /* === TREEHOUSE
