11,492 PointsToo Fast of Pace?
I am currently learning 3D modeling with Maya in college and thought I could supplement it with these videos. I personally think the pace is extremely fast for someone who is brand new Maya or any Autodesk application. The UI overview video barely scratched the surface by briefly explaining the features and then you are thrown into the deep end with only a few minutes of new information to rely on in the following videos. I see this time and time again on here where experts in their field have forgotten what it is like to learn from scratch and do not translate their experience to a beginner's level.

4,182 PointsDefinitely way too fast and too many details skipped. It would be very helpful to know which tools are being used to create which effect when the objects are being scaled. I can't even watch the video to see because keyboard shortcuts are being used and I have no idea what shortcut is being used at any given moment. After i'm more familiar it may seem simple but as a beginner it is very frustrating and confusing.

3,076 PointsI'd rather learn a bit less but get the better understanding of what I am doing. Not the most successful course I would say as the teacher is definitely in a serious rush and doesn't take the time explain things just a bit slower and in details.

11,600 PointsHey Brian. One thing you may find helpful if the material is too fast is to adjust the speed of the video in the controls at the bottom right of the player. You can set it to 75% speed and that can help you on some of the lessons where you are needing more time. Hope this helps!

Courses Plus Student 12,188 PointsWhat is true is that you make the course "3D Art with Maya" (that is not an advance course) at speed 1 is much much faster than "digital-literacy" at same speed 1 (that is also introduction).

5,022 PointsIt's freaking Maya. There is so much to learn in this application. Fitting as much into one video as possible is a good thing. I just keep rewatching them if I don't completely grasp a concept. And once I perfect it, it feels much better than learning only basic information.

Courses Plus Student 12,188 PointsI agree, but you have the option of pausing the video if you lost something. And more videos are to come. So overall is OK for me. I hope the Team Treehouse can go into detail in farther videos. Probably they will.
