iOS Swift Collections and Control Flow Control Flow With Conditional Statements Working With Switch Statements

To do this you're going to use a switch statement and switch on the key. For cases where the key is a European country,

i need some help am stuck

operators.swift
var europeanCapitals: [String] = []
var asianCapitals: [String] = []

First thing to do is consider what you need to do: You are trying to put city names into the correct list.

To do this you will iterate through the world dictionary using the for-in loop.

You can use a switch statement to find specific cities based off the dictionary key (in this case, the 3-letter code).

Once you have a match, you can append the associated dictionary values to the correct array -- for example: case "BEL": europeanCapitals.append(value).

If you need further guidance here's the completed code:

var europeanCapitals: [String] = []
var asianCapitals: [String] = []
var otherCapitals: [String] = []

let world = [
  "BEL": "Brussels",
  "LIE": "Vaduz",
  "BGR": "Sofia",
  "USA": "Washington D.C.",
  "MEX": "Mexico City",
  "BRA": "Brasilia",
  "IND": "New Delhi",
  "VNM": "Hanoi"]

for (key, value) in world {
    // Enter your code below
    switch key {
    case "BEL", "LIE", "BGR": europeanCapitals.append(value)
    case "IND", "VNM": asianCapitals.append(value)
    default: otherCapitals.append(value)
    }
    // End code
}
