20,907 PointsThis course would have benefited from using an example web page instead of nano text files.
It's still doable, but makes it more difficult to imagine the real world workflow using git on a webpage or app

11,007 Pointsjust took that course yesterday and I think the purpose of the course was to help you get familiar with the functioning of git under the hood a bit. I think it would have been a distraction to have web pages and so on as git is about moving files around and the course focused on that very well. If the course had tried to do a real world workflow it would easily have been twice as long as the already long enough 4 hours. As a result of this course, I feel I could start using git today on a project and could easily transition to something like Github as I now have some understanding of the "plumbing." So in my opinion, Treehouse shouldn't change the way that course is taught. I think 4 hours with text files was a fine introduction!
