I'm not sure what is causing the error! I checked the preview and it works fine!
import random
start = 5
def even_odd(num):
# If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
# Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
return not num % 2
while start:
num0 = random.randint(1,99)
if even_odd(num0):
print("{} is even!".format(num0))
else:
print("{} is odd!".format(num0))
start -= 1

28,558 PointsThe challenge is very picky about what you print out, it has to match the example text to the letter. The example text provided in the instructions does not include an exclamation mark. So if you remove the exclamation mark in your strings like this:
import random
start = 5
def even_odd(num):
# If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
# Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
return not num % 2
while start:
num0 = random.randint(1,99)
if even_odd(num0):
print("{} is even".format(num0))
else:
print("{} is odd".format(num0))
start -= 1
Then your code will pass.
