16,358 PointsThere's something I'm not understanding and I can't seem to find it...
Am i implementing the code needed within the correct drive method? What in my code block isn't correct...?
class GoKart {
public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
private String color;
private int barCount;
private int lapsDriven;
public GoKart(String color) {
this.color = color;
}
public String getColor() {
return color;
}
public void charge() {
barCount = MAX_BARS;
}
public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
return barCount == 0;
}
public boolean isFullyCharged() {
return MAX_BARS == barCount;
}
public void drive() {
drive(1);
}
public void drive(int laps) {
lapsDriven += laps;
int newLapsDriven = barCount -= laps;
if (newLapsDriven > MAX_BARS) {
throw new IllegalArgumentException("Not enough energy");
}
barCount = newLapsDriven;
}
}

24,260 PointsYou're overthinking this :D
You actually already have a method that checks if your battery is empty.
Because this method returns a boolean value, you can directly use it as a condition for your if statement.
If you still have a questions, just write a comment.
