13,204 PointsThe program throws huge error when I try running the program after I implement the button. Please help me out!
This is my code, exactly like Craigs, is there something wrong with my JDK? I would really like to continue on with this course, but I cannot figure out what's wrong.
package sample;
import javafx.application.Application;
import javafx.scene.Group;
import javafx.scene.Scene;
import javafx.scene.control.Button;
import javafx.scene.text.Text;
import javafx.stage.Stage;
public class Main extends Application {
@Override
public void start(Stage primaryStage) throws Exception{
// Parent root = FXMLLoader.load(getClass().getResource("sample.fxml"));
Group root = new Group();
Text txt = new Text("Sup?");
Button btn = new Button();
btn.setText("Say Sup!");
txt.setY(50);
root.getChildren().add(txt);
root.getChildren().add(btn);
primaryStage.setTitle("Sup");
primaryStage.setScene(new Scene(root, 300, 275));
primaryStage.show();
}
public static void main(String[] args) {
launch(args);
}
}
This is the error I am getting :

7,941 PointsHey. i had the same issue. This link helped me out, it was a problem with the VM options for intelliJ. https://openjfx.io/openjfx-docs/
If you click Run -> edit config. Enter this into VM Options adding in your javafx path. --module-path /path/to/javafx-sdk-13/lib --add-modules javafx.controls,javafx.fxml
