the navigation element doesn't seem to work

I added the navigation element directly after the header and the unordered list, but it doesn't seem to work

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <nav></nav>
        <ul></ul>
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Close! But not quite. The challenge asks you to add the nav element immediately after the link. Remember the link does not end until the closed anchor tag. And the unordered list is supposed to be inside your nav element. Take a look:

  <header>
      <a href="index.html">  <!--  Begin link -->
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>                    <!-- End link -->
       <nav>
          <ul> <!-- unordered list inside of nav -->
          </ul>
       </nav>
    </header>
