The Job Hunt

I'm having a bit of difficulty as I begin applying for jobs after finishing the Front End Web Development track. I am finding that many jobs require back-end skills from front-end web developers. I feel rather ill-equipped to find a job. Many also require (or strongly desire) frameworks such as angular.js, backbone.js, or react.js.

Are the JavaScript skills I was taught in the FE Web Development course sufficient to land a job?

Any insight, especially from the staff (who have gone before little beginners like myself, would be wonderful.

Hi Erik,

I recommend applying anyway. A lot of jobs will list a huge laundry list of skills they are looking for, but it's not easy finding someone who happens to have experience with all those skills. Start learning those skills, and in a potential interview, you can say that you don't have experience with React, but you started learning it and you are passionate about it (presumably)! Start building things and showcase that in your interview. Even if it's something small. If it shows that you are passionate about the skill, that means something.
