Question is what is the alt attribute used for? My answer selection was it points to a backup image file. The result of my answer says bummer! What up with that?

231,269 PointsThe "alt" attribute is used to hold a description of the image, and it is shown on the page anytime the image itself cannot be shown due to some problem. It is also spoken to the sight-impaired user by screen reader tools, and browsers will display it if you hover the cursor over the image.
