830 PointsTask 2 builds on Task 1, why is it asking me to redo task 1?
Task 1 requests that you add a navigation tag and unordered list tag, specifically mentioned not to add list items yet. My work has been checked and approved. When I move to Task 2 I am asked to add three list items. Once this code is added I receive the error message "Oops! It looks like Task 1 is no longer correct!". My only options are to go to Task 1 and remove the new list items, get help, or continue to get the error message as the work is rechecked.

7,521 PointsIt looks like your tags are out of order. You have an anchor tag starting before the nav and ending inside of it. That might be part of the problem.
Edit: yeah that is your problem, it should look like this:
<header>
<a href="index.html">
<h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
<h2>Designer</h2>
</a>
<nav>
<ul>
<li> Portfolio </li>
<li>About </li>
<li> Contact </li>
</ul>
</nav>
</header>
