Treehouse TeacherHi there! That would be true. Systems software enables things like your mouse, monitor, file system, hard drive and more to run. It provides an interface between the machine and the user to give orders to the machine.
Application software is the additional software that is added as sort of a layer on top of this. Applications software sends information to the system software which then, in turn, communicates that to the hardware. You can not run application software without systems software.
