I am looking for some assistance on my syntax in this problem please

First, you must state in your method what you expect to return. You set it up as String, but you'll want to say 'public int getTileCount(char tilecount)...

In your conditional, you need double equals to check for the boolean, ie. (searchingTile==tileToFind)
