1,345 PointsSyntax error: cannot find symbol calculator = new Calculator();
I think there is a bug in the last exercise where you shall instantiate a new Calculator and use that instance in each method. It seems like the test instance doesnt have acces to a calculator. I cant seem to fix this, any help will truly be appreciated :) Btw awesome courses!
package com.example;
import org.junit.Before;
import org.junit.Test;
import static org.junit.Assert.*;
public class CalculatorTest {
@Before
public void setUp() throws Exception {
}
@Test
public void addingMultipleNumbersProducesResult() throws Exception {
Calculator calculator = new Calculator();
int answer = calculator.addNumbers(1 ,2, 3);
assertEquals(6, answer);
}
@Test
public void addingSingleNumberTotalsAppropriately() throws Exception {
Calculator calculator = new Calculator();
int answer = calculator.addNumbers(1);
assertEquals(1, answer);
}
}
package com.example;
public class Calculator {
public int addNumbers(int... numbers) {
int total = 0;
for (int number : numbers) {
total += number;
}
return total;
}
}

Treehouse TeacherHi there! No it can't find it, because you likely haven't declared it. So I'm just going to leave a hint here. This first needs to be declared as a private variable. Take a look at this video at 2:17. Craig will show you how it's done. Hope this helps!
