Sync data with mobile app

Hi team

Im working in a project where I have a web app in J7EE and mobile app in android, I need to sync data between my web app and mobile app, In my mobile app I already create the content provider and the sync adapter to handle this async task, but I want to know if there is a good practice to handle the sync from web app, I using jax-rs and json from my web app, but I am not sure if there is a pattern or a good way to handle this synchronization. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
