Sudo chown not working as expected in console

When I type

sudo chown mike hello.txt

i get back:

sudo: unable to resolve host domU-12-31-39-0A-9E-5F

but it does change the file's owner. it never asks me for a password.

any idea why this is happening?

Did you log in as a admin?

I don't think so.. I've just been following the directions in the video

Try logging in as an admin.

Also, are you following along in the built-in Console or are you following along on your personal computer?

If you are following along in the built-in Console Treehouse created, I don't think you need to log in to a admin.
