When I type
sudo chown mike hello.txt
i get back:
sudo: unable to resolve host domU-12-31-39-0A-9E-5F
but it does change the file's owner. it never asks me for a password.
any idea why this is happening?

If you are following along in the built-in Console Treehouse created, I don't think you need to log in to a admin.
