I keep getting an error that I need to link to index.html but, I think I have it right so there is something I'm not seeing. Any help is appreciated.

4,144 PointsMaybe this is why, but I am confused as to why you have your anchor tag closing after your nav. What you have written;
<a href="index.html">
<nav>
<ul>
<li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
<li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
<li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
</ul>
</nav>
<h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
<h2>Designer</h2>
</a>
You are telling your document that from nav
to /nav
, everything that is clickable there should redirect you to index.html
. I think that's your issue.
Edit: Not sure why, but the opening anchor tag is not showing up.

3,663 PointsThat was already in the code challenge code when I opened it I believe. Going to try your suggestion and will post back! Thank you for responding.

3,663 PointsThat was the issue. I guess I should have put my nav and ul after the h1 and h2 and /a tags. Once I made that change it passed with no issue.
thank you for your help!!!
