2,036 PointsString literal v Strong Object: Why use the two different methods for creating strings? Why not just use one?
Personally, I found the video lesson hugely confusing, but the answers to questions have been super helpful. I think I now understand the difference.
So my question is, why not just use string literals and only one method? What circumstances would dictate that you have to use the constructer method to create a new object instead? Surely it helps the compiler to just use one method.
The two methods:
String str = new String("abc");
And
String str = "abc";
What is best practice and when should I be using either/both?
