Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types String Formatting

String formatting: Python Basics; challenge tasks 1 and 2, unable to complete the task.

What am I doing wrong? I ran this code in work space console and I get what I think I should be getting. I have watched the video on "strings", several times and am convinced that this is right..., please help.

subject = "Treehouse loves {}!"
subject.format(name)

Hi Brian,

Your code is assigning the the template of "Treehouse loves {}!" to the variable subject and then throws in the formatted string in the air (the .format method doesn't actually change the value of the variable on which you call it). The challenge is to assign the fully formatted string to the variable subject... Also, the "!" will cause an issue as well as it's not part of the challenge. Hope this helps.
