Sorry for the ignorance, I got a question wrong, "Is Energia Application or System software? Why is it Application?

I have watched and re-watched, and also read through the transcripts. I don't understand what Energia Is to begin with, which is why I don't understand the correct answer?

Hi Christina. Welcome to Treehouse.

System software is what runs your computer... be it "Windows", "OSX", "LINUX". Application software is what you use to do things. Applications run 'on top' of System software. "Energia" is prototyping software that you use for a specific purpose, but does not make your computer itself run. It would be the same as Word® or PhotoShop®... you use them, but the computer doesn't need them to work.

Hope that helps to make sense. Keep Coding! :)
